Wallis가 밝고 당찬 고아 애니 역할을 맡았다. 언젠가는 부모님이 찾아오실거라 믿고 살아가는 애니 곁에는 혹독하게 일만 시키는 계모 뿐. 하지만 뉴욕시장 후보인 Will Stacks가 애니를 입양 하면서 애니의 인생은 바뀐다. 1977년 미국 브로드웨이에서 초연된 애니는 토니 어워드 안부상, 대본상등 4개의 상을 휩쓸었고, 애니 주인공이 여우주연상을 수상 했다. 1982년 영화로 나온 애니 역시 엄청난 인기를 자랑 했으며 특히 애니 주인공인 Aileen Quinn이 10000:1의 엄청난 경쟁률을 제치고 애니가 되어 화재가 되었다.

Annie is a young, happy foster kid who's also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014.
